“Nest in Athens” is a shelter for immigrant children who arrive in Greece from countries in crisis and who need a temporary home to live peacefully and safely. Besides accommodation, the shelter covers other basic needs of the young people, such as providing food, hygiene, legal counselling and information about life opportunities in Greece, psychosocial support, medical support and Greek learning programs.

inspiration

For such a sensitive issue we wanted to create a visual that would communicate the notion of security, warmth, family bonding, relaxation and peace of mind. That’s why we designed the logo of “Nest in Athens” combining the elements of a house roof and a bird’s nest, representing the universal symbols of security, confidence, trust and love. Regarding the entrance of the nest, it looks like a kid’s smile; wide and carefree. The color of the logo is being inspired by the orange life jackets, as a symbol of rescue, life and hope.
